Dr Christopher Khor attended medical school at the National University of Singapore, proceeding to train in Internal Medicine, and then in Gastroenterology in Singapore. After completing an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship majoring in ERCP at the Medical University of South Carolina, he moved to Indiana University Medical Center to train further in Endoscopic Ultrasound. More recently, he completed extended clinical attachments in Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection at the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo, and at Kobe University Medical Center.
Dr Khor's main practice areas are in general gastroenterology, therapeutic endoscopy and pancreato-biliary disease. He has a keen interest in endoscopic quality, training and education, and in promoting cross-border co-operation between endoscopists in South-East Asia.
Dr Khor has more than 20 peer-reviewed papers to his name, serves on the editorial board of the journal Endoscopy, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Digestive Diseases & Sciences and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, as well as for a number of medical journals published in Singapore. On the regional stage, Dr. Khor has served for a number of years as faculty demonstrator and speaker at national endoscopy workshops in Malaysia and Thailand, and as a speaker and discussant at endoscopy meetings in Japan and Korea. In August 2010 Dr Khor returned to his alma mater, Indiana University Medical Center, to lead Grand Rounds in Gastroenterology. In February 2011 he co-directed the Endoscopy Postgraduate Course at the 21st Conference of the Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver in Bangkok, Thailand. Dr Khor’s most pressing tasks at hand are in serving as Vice-President of Asian-Pacific Digestive Week 2011 in Singapore, for which he directs Endoscopy programming, and as the incumbent President of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore.
