Dr Gowans is a Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at NUH. Her main clinical interests are in inflammatory bowel disease and hepatology. Her current research is in the field of inflammatory bowel disease in Singapore.
Dr Gowans graduated from Otago Medical School, NZ, in 1999 and worked in both New Zealand and the UK before starting her training in Auckland, NZ, in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in 2005. She completed her training in Gastroenterology in May 2009 and subsequently moved to Singapore where she became a board certified gastroenterologist in October 2009.
