Dr Robert Lim

Dr Robert Lim is a graduate of both the University of St Andrews and the University of Edinburgh, obtaining his medical degree from the latter. He went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at Cornell University Medical College – New York Hospital and thereafter a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the same institution. He has developed his practice particularly in gastrointestinal, hepatic and pancreatic malignancies. He has also been involved in clinical research and has been associated with and co-authored several pivotal major studies in colon cancer and pancreatic cancer that have influenced practice. Dr Lim was Head of the Department of Haematology-Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) from 2005 till March 2011. During his tenure as the Head, he led the department to the forefront of research at the campus and in Singapore. In particular, drug development and pharmacogenomics have been priorities to further improve the understanding of chemotherapy agents especially in the Asian setting. Amongst his various responsibilities, Dr Lim concurrently holds appointments as an Associate Director at NCIS (Clinical) and also serves as a council member of Dover Park Hospice. He was a former member of the specialist training committee for medical oncology.
