Dr. Venkatesh graduated from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore University, India. He received training in radiology at Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi University, Delhi and later at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, India. In late 2004, he joined as a faculty in the department of Diagnostic Radiology, NUS. Dr. Venkatesh is interested in abdominal imaging and in particular hepatobiliary imaging. Dr.Venkatesh specializes in body imaging and is a trained interventional radiologist. He has been instrumental in bringing the MR Elastography technique to NUH after receiving training at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, USA. He also performs basic interventional procedures and specializes in abdominal interventions, in particular liver interventions. Dr. Venkatesh is a keen researcher and has received several research grants including two individual research grants from NMRC Singapore. He is the research director for the department of Diagnostic Imaging. He also serves as a member of the institutional review board for the National Health Care Group, Singapore. He is a well-known lecturer and has been invited to speak at many regional and international radiology conferences. Recently he was the key note speaker for the New Zealand chapter of RANZCR2010 congress held at Queenstown, New Zealand and chairman of the scientific committee, ASEAN Association of Radiology Conference 2011. He is also the founding member of the Emergency Radiology Chapter of Asia Oceania Congress of Radiology.
