Dr Tan Sing Huang obtained her medical degrees from the National University of Singapore (MBBS), the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom [MRCP(UK)] and the Masters of Medicine (S’pore). She later completed her advanced specialist training in Medical Oncology at National University Hospital, and in the interim, did a research fellowship with the RUNX research group in Biopolis, Singapore under a National Medical Research-Singapore (NMRC) Totalisator Medical Research Fellowship Award She then completed a postgraduate research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Baltimore where she was involved in epigenetics research and clinical work pertaining to breast cancer. She is a certified medical oncologist with the Singapore Medical Council. She also sits on the committee of the National Healthcare Group Domain-Specific Ethics Review Board. Her interests are in the treatment of patients with breast cancer; and her research focus is on breast cancer treatment and epigenetics. She is also involved in breast cancer clinical trials and translational research in epigenetics; by actively participating in several multi-centre breast cancer clinical trials as well as initiating research studies pertaining to breast cancer epigenetics. She has written on chemotherapy treatment of metastatic breast cancer in an international breast cancer textbook and published clinical and research articles in peer-reviewed international journals in relation to breast cancer and epigenetics.
