About Expressive Art Studio
Expressive Art Studio is a place where anyone can participate in art-making. Before and during the art-making process, individuals are encouraged to experiment with different materials and different art or craft techniques. Throughout the session, there will be assistance with the exploration process. The purpose of art-making is not only to create an end product, but to be fully immersed into the journey of art creation. One might discover that they extremely enjoy one art medium while others may like to dabble in multiple mediums. Guidance will be provided in this very individualised process.
At the end of the session, individuals may choose to share about their art piece, and use it as a form of inspiration or encouragement for themselves or others.
Benefits of Expressive Art
Expressive art programmes have been found to be helpful for individuals with various conditions in facilitating recovery for mental well-being. Individuals found art-making to be a process of self-discovery and self-expression. Individuals also found art-making to be therapeutic, describing it as leading to a sense of spirituality, empowerment and clarity in their thinking.
