Les Amis Cooking MasterClasses 2016

 

***Classes are exclusively for Cancer Patients & their Caregivers***

 

 

The Les Amis Cooking MasterClasses are an ongoing collaboration between the Les Amis Group and the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) featuring a series of cooking classes with chefs from the award-winning culinary group for cancer patients and their caregivers. Together with the Department of Dietetics in the National University Hospital, the chefs of the Les Amis Group have concocted the recipes to cater to the nutritional and dietary needs of cancer patients.


At each class, a Chef from the Les Amis Group will conduct a live cooking demonstration for participants teaching them how to prepare two dishes based on healthy cooking practices so that they may incorporate healthy eating in their daily diets. The classes are conducted in an interactive manner whereby participants are able to engage with the Chef, sample the featured dishes, bring home recipes of the featured dishes as well as bond with fellow class participants.

 

Classes are FREE and we warmly welcome all cancer patients and their caregivers for a mouth-watering food bonding session.

"With an extensive 15 years of culinary experience under his belt, the bubbly Chef Dalton helms the kitchen as Head Chef of La Strada today. From the tender age of 10, his fervent love for cooking was unmistakable as he entered the industrial kitchen shortly after graduating from the Principle of Professional Cooking course by the Education Foundation of the National Restaurant Association, USA, in 1998."

"The Singaporean pastry chef spent two years at two Michelin-starred Lasserre, one of the most famous gastronomic institutions in Paris, before she was appointed Chef de Partie at the iconic Burj Al Arab in Dubai in 2005. with renowned Austrian pastry chef Felix Schmid. Later that year, Cheryl worked with one of Italy's most revered restaurateurs, Chef Alfonso Laccarino, at his two Michelin-starred Don Alfonso 1890 in Sorrento, and sister restaurant at the Grand Lisboa in Macau."

"Chef Ken joined Bistro du Vin in 2009 as part of the opening team for the Shaw Centre outlet. Despite being new to working in a restaurant kitchen, it didn’t take long before he familiarised himself with French cuisine. With an interest for cooking and curiosity for different cuisines, he was always on a lookout for French restaurants to try and new recipes to explore."
