Biosketch

Dr Jonathan Lee is a Consultant specializing in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at National University Hospital, Singapore, as well as an Assistant Professor at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He currently services as the director of Research, for the divsion of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Dr Lee graduated from University of New South Wales, Australia, and did his postgraduate residency in NUH. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and was certified by the Specialist Accreditation Board of Singapore in 2017. Following completion of specialist training, he completed an exchange fellowship at Kyushu University Hospital for imaged-enhanced endoscopy in 2018, and subsequently completed a two-year full-time overseas NRMC research training fellowship (2019-2021) at the Broad Institute, USA, under Prof Ramnik Xavier.

Dr Jonathan Lee has a keen interest in translational microbiome medicine, and drives the fecal microbiota transplant clinical service at the National University Hospital, Singapore. His research interest is in studying the role of microbiome associated with gastrointestinal diseases, whereby he previously used microbial metagenomics to prognosticate patients with inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal adenomatous polyps. He is currently a principle investigator for multiple ongoing basic and translational research in this field.
