Brain Tumour Awareness Campaign 2026 is dedicated to increasing awareness about brain tumours, both malignant and benign, and it is an opportunity to unite as a collective force, raise our voices, and create positive change. It’s a time to underscore the importance of research, share stories of those affected, and emphasize the need for early detection, advanced treatments, and support services for patients and their families.
The brain tumour experience is full of extraordinary challenges and extraordinary hope – the grey area that falls in between is what drives us, unrelentingly, toward our shared mission to conquer and find better treatments and ultimately, a cure.

Join us for the Public Symposium on 31 October 2026 from 2pm to 5pm at NUHS Tower Block (Zone T), Auditorium as part of Brain Tumour Awareness Month Campaign 2026. The programme begins with an opening speech by our campaign chairs, followed by talks by our doctors, and inspiring patient story sharing from 3 patients and a caregiver, to foster deeper understanding and community connection.
This inclusive event aims to bring together healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and the wider community to share knowledge, experiences, and support in the journey of brain tumour awareness and care.

 | Dr Aaron Foo Dr Aaron Foo is a Consultant in the Division of Neurosurgery at the National University Hospital, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Alexandra Hospital. He also serves as a Visiting Research Scientist at the Centre for Life Sciences, National University of Singapore, where he conducts research on brain cancers. His clinical interests include paediatric neurosurgery, Gamma Knife radiosurgery and skull base surgery. His research focuses on diffuse midline glioma and novel therapeutic approaches for brain tumours. |
 | Dr Caryn Wajunto Dr Caryn Wujanto graduated from Imperial College London with MBBS (Distinction in Clinical Sciences) and intercalated BSc in Medical Sciences with Endocrinology. She completed core medical training in the United Kingdom, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and subsequently underwent specialist training in Radiation Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), National University Hospital, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Australia. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in May 2026. Dr Wujanto is a keen advocate for multidisciplinary cancer care, delivering evidence-based radiotherapy, and providing holistic, patient-centred care for patients with cancer. |
 | Melissa Lim Melissa Lim is the Founder and President of Brain Tumour Society (Singapore). Her personal mission to help brain tumour patients and caregivers stemmed from her first-hand encounter as a brain tumour patient. This experience closely echoed the lonely journey she had with her late mother who had terminal brain cancer. Upon her recovery, Melissa decided to leverage on her personal experiences as a patient and caregiver to bring hope and encouragement to other brain tumour patients. For her 20 years of outstanding volunteerism, 12 of which through BTSS, Melissa was named the winner of the “People of Good Award (Open Category)” in the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2025. Under her leadership, BTSS now serves a community of 300 families through a range of programmes such as befriending, peer support groups, community bonding events, financial and practical assistance. Earlier, Melissa received the Singapore Health Inspirational Patient Award in March 2015 while BTSS was accorded the Singapore Health Inspirational Patient Group Award in 2020. Melissa is an active participant of various local and international patient initiatives and committees, including NUHS Patient Partners. Recently, she was named the Inaugural Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Brain Tumour Alliance. |
 | Jian Shern Yap Mr Yap is a valued BTSS Legal Volunteer and an Associate at Wong Partnership LLP. He will be sharing practical insights on estate planning to help patients and caregivers better prepare for the future with clarity and confidence. |
