Adjunct Associate Professor Francis Ho is a Senior Consultant in the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), where he heads the Department of Radiation Oncology which provides radiotherapy services across the NUHS and NHG clusters; and serves as the Lead for the Geriatric Haematology Oncology GOLDEN Program in NCIS. In the 2026 National Day Awards, he was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in recognition of his contributions to public healthcare. He completed his medical training with the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and was subsequently admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
A/Prof Ho's practice interests include head and neck cancer and in particular nasopharyngeal cancer, geriatric oncology, hepatobiliary cancer and ophthalmic cancer. He is currently the Radiation Oncology Lead for the NCIS Head and Neck Cancer Program.
Back in 2017, he also started the geriatric oncology service in NUHS and spearheaded the geriatric oncology end to end longitudinal (GOLDEN) program to tailor oncology care for our elderly cancer patients. He has since led the department in establishing several new services for NCIS patients, including the NCIS proton therapy service, oesophageal brachytherapy and stereotactic body radiotherapy at the NCIS Radiotherapy Centre @ TTSH.
A/Prof Ho is also concurrently holding various appointments both within the institution and nationally. At NUHS, he is a faculty member of the Enabling Quality Improvement in Clinical Practice (EQUIP) program, a NUHS Thought Leader in Transformation, and co-leads the transformation office at NCIS. Nationally, he is the immediate past President of the Singapore Radiological Society and an Executive Committee Member of the Chapter of Radiation Oncology, College of Radiologists, Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He also serves on the Ministry of Health's National Radiation Oncology Therapy Advisory Committee, National Proton Beam Therapy Advisory Committee, Medical Technology Advisory Committee (MTAC) and the licensing team for proton beam therapy facilities, as well as on the Technical Committee for Radiation Safety and Security in Medicine and Dentistry at the National Environment Agency. Internationally, he has served on the Council of the Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology and is Singapore's National Project Coordinator for the IAEA ASPRONET virtual tumour board.
A/Prof Ho has published multiple scientific papers in respected peer-reviewed medical journals and has contributed chapters on the management of nasopharyngeal cancer and salivary gland cancer in oncology textbooks. He is the department representative to the Centralised Institutional Review Board and previously served as a review board member of the Domain Specific Review Board (DSRB).
As a clinician educator, he is active in teaching radiotherapy students at the Singapore Institute of Technology, medical students at both the National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and radiation oncology residents. He sits on the Radiation Oncology Residency Advisory Committee and the Joint Coordinating Committee for Radiation Oncology Residency under the Joint Committee on Specialist Training, and led NUH to become a national sponsoring institution for Radiation Oncology Residency from 2026.
