Biosketch

Adj A/Prof Goh is an experienced board certified Urologist who was the Gold Medalist for his final specialist exams a decade ago. He completed a double fellowship in Robotic Kidney Surgery and Kidney Transplantation in the Royal Free Hospital, London, United Kingdom in 2018-2019.

Adj A/Prof Goh is currently the Director of Kidney Surgery and Kidney Transplantation in Department of Urology, NUH and concurrently the Surgical Director of Kidney Transplantation in NUCOT. Beyond a broad interest and clinical expertise in a broad range of Urological conditions, Adj A/Prof Goh has particular passion for complex surgery involving the kidneys including kidney tumours, kidney stones, upper tract reconstruction and kidney donation & transplantation. 

With significant experience across the platforms for treatment, Adj A/Prof Goh employs minimally invasive surgery including robotic, laparoscopic, microsurgical approaches for optimal outcomes and recovery for oncology patients with renal, urothelial malignancy and reconstructive procedures for patients with obstruction of the urinary system. He also excels in endourological procedure to manage obstruction and stone diseases in the urinary system.  

A passionate educator, A/Prof Goh served previously as Medical Undergraduate Director of the Department of Surgery at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS through COVID 19 from 2020-2022. His passion for teaching and innovative approach to medical education have earned him multiple awards. He was the Assistant Dean, Office for Student during the inaugural term of starting the office from 2022-2024 with multiple initiatives in the education space.

A/Prof Goh's commitment to advancing the field of urology and kidney transplantation is evident in his research endeavours. He is involved in clinical and translational research from cell free DNA to use of new technology and techniques in kidney transplantation. In 2022, he introduced the first hypothermic kidney perfusion machine to NUH, a technology that is now being implemented nationwide in Singapore. 

Being a certified executive coach, team coach and organisational development practitioner, A/Prof Goh is passionate about team dynamics and coaching within the Kidney Transplant Surgical team and Urology team, fostering a collaborative and skilled team toward better patient care. 

Adj A/Prof Goh has an interest in translational research, collaborating with Molecular Diagnostic Centre in testing DNA polymorphism in donor-recipient pairs undergoing kidney transplantation. There is also ongoing collaboration with Biomedical Engineering Department for microfluidic enrichment of urine towards improved bladder cancer detection. The team has obtained multiple grants to carry out the translational research.
