Dr Nivedh is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with the Division of Neurosurgery at the National University Hospital. His clinical practice focuses on skull base surgery and neuro-oncology, with particular interests in anterior skull base and pituitary surgery, complex brain tumour surgery, and the preservation of neurological function.

Dr Nivedh graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, with his MBBS in 2013 and commenced his neurosurgical residency training in 2014. He obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MRCS) and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Surgical Neurology (FRCSEd [SN]) in 2022. He subsequently completed a Master of Clinical Investigation at the National University of Singapore in 2023.

Following his specialist training, he undertook subspecialty fellowship training in skull base and vascular neurosurgery at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, under the mentorship of Professor Mohsen Javadpour. His skull base practice has a particular emphasis on endoscopic endonasal approaches to pituitary and anterior skull base lesions. His fellowship training also provided extensive experience in microsurgical techniques for vascular and cranial nerve disorders, and his clinical interests include microsurgical clipping of intracranial aneurysms and microvascular decompression.

In neuro-oncology, Dr Nivedh manages both primary and metastatic brain tumours, with a particular interest in tumours involving eloquent areas of the brain. His surgical practice incorporates both awake and asleep brain mapping techniques to facilitate maximal safe tumour resection, with particular emphasis on motor mapping and the preservation of motor function. He further developed his experience in advanced brain mapping through an observership with Professor Francesco Bello in Milan.

His neuro-oncology practice also extends to intradural spinal tumours. He underwent additional fellowship training with the NUH Orthopaedic Spine Surgery team, complementing his neurosurgical training in the management of complex spinal and intradural pathology.

Across these areas of practice, Dr Nivedh provides comprehensive surgical care for patients with tumours of the brain, skull base, pituitary region and spinal cord, with an emphasis on maximal safe resection and preservation of neurological function.
